Morgan Blackburn

Morgan joined the NYCLU in October 2022 as the Deputy Director of Development. Previously, she worked as a frontline fundraiser for NYC-based workforce development organizations Grace Institute, StreetWise Partners, and The HOPE Program. Most recently, Morgan worked at Native Organizers Alliance, a nonprofit organization working alongside tribal leaders and organizations to achieve sovereignty across Indian Country. She has dedicated her career to empowering donors and creating a meaningful impact in vulnerable communities, both locally and around the country.

In addition to her role as a fundraiser for the NY affiliate, Morgan also sits on the ACLU’s Indigenous Justice Steering Committee (IJSC). The IJSC is a group of 5 staff from across the country acting as representatives for the National Indigenous Justice Working Group, and it provides guidance and support for Indigenous Justice work across all ACLU affiliates and the national office.

Morgan is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College where she studied Women’s and Gender Studies, US Government, and Native American History. She currently lives in Lenapehoking (Brooklyn) with her two Siamese kitties, Sake and Soju.
