The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act of New York

The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act of New York provides a means of ensuring that all voters are able to cast a meaningful ballot, but especially helps to accelerate the participation of those minority voters who have been historically denied an equal opportunity to participate in the political process.

If enacted, the NYVRA would be the strongest and most comprehensive state voting rights act to date – and it would continue this state’s march towards becoming a leader in promoting equal access to political participation.

As bold as the spirit of New York, we are the NYCLU.
